This was a really fun project to work on! A lovely woman brought in pieces of 1920's platinum and diamonds that had been adornment for a purse. The platinum and diamond piece was just as you see it, except there was black cloth pressed between the platinum. In order to to keep the integrity of the piece we decided to rivet the platinum piece on top of black onyx to give it a background that would make it pop. These pieces are no longer living in a safety deposit box but are being loved the way they were intended to be.
